Sacramento's Best Sunless Tanning! Custom airbrush tanning AKA a spray tan, is artist applied. It gives a longer lasting, more even application with less user error than a spray booth tan. Get the bronze of the sun in 15 minutes. Custom Spray Tans are just that, custom. They are not booth applied. Having a certified spray artist apply your tan, ensures even results. We sprayed Miss Sacramento 2011 and 2014, Miss Greater Sacramento 2017, Miss Capital City 2019 and Ms. El Dorado County 2019 for their pageants. Custom Spray tans last up to 7 days depending on your natural skin cycle and how you maintain it. Skin naturally sheds every 7 days.
PREPARATION & MAINTENANCE FOR YOUR SUNLESS SPRAY TAN SESSION
Preparation
EXFOLIATE BEFORE EACH SESSION TO REMOVE DRY, FLAKY SKIN. Remove dead, dry skin cells that will impede the absorption of your spray tan. This allows for the sunless spray to absorb deeply into the skin. Spraying sunless products on dry flaky skin causes the tan to look less natural, uneven and will shorten the life of your sunless tan. We suggest using our Norvell Renewing Sunless Exfoliator or Norvell pH Balancing Shower Cleanser with scrub gloves (all available in the salons) the morning of your session.
Avoid using bar soaps, high pH shower products or in-shower moisturizers. These products can halt the sunless reaction. We do offer exfoliating wipes for purchase if you do not have time to do this at home. You can get sprayed however you are comfortable, whether it is in a swimsuit or nude, it’s completely up to you. (Men must wear bottoms).
Do not moisturize! Do not use deodorant. You can bring deodorant with you for use after your spray, tanning session, using it prior to sunless will impede your absorption. Do not spray any perfume on your body. It is best not to apply makeup but if you do then remove before your session. We highly recommend Norvell Pre-Sunless XLATAN pH Balancing Gel. It will hydrate, help even out your pH as well as help your tan come to the surface faster and last longer.
WEAR DARK, LOOSE FITTING CLOTHING Tight clothes can rub off or smear the bronzers and affect the overall outcome of your tan.
Maintenance
Avoid Sweating! Avoid activities that may cause you to sweat excessively for at least 6 hours or until your first shower to avoid streaking the cosmetic bronzer and impede the development of the tan. Use the air conditioning in your car on a hot day. Water deactivates the spray tan solution. After your first shower, you are fine to resume activities that make you sweat.
Avoid Water! You must avoid water entirely for at least 6 hours or you will stop the tanning action and/or cause streaking.
Cleansing - Wait to Shower! For maximum results, wait at least 6 hours before showering or bathing. After that time, we recommend our Norvell pH Balancing Shower Cleanser as your shower product.
Avoid using bar soaps, high pH products, products with high alcohol percentage and lots of fragrances, they will strip and fade your tan rapidly. Proper cleansing insures even fading and the longest lasting, most natural looking sunless results. After bathing, gently "pat dry" skin.
Avoid body care with heavy alcohol or mineral oil such as bath and body works, etc..
Tan Extend: The day after your sunless spray session and after your first shower, use Norvell Prolong Sunless Color Extender. This lotion helps keep your tan healthy and skin moisturized while adding refreshing glow each day to your color. It also helps your color fade gradually and evenly.
Between Sessions: For additional color, we suggest Norvell Self Tanner
